Jun 26, 2015

Immerse yourself in a world of colour, as the experts at Trendstop.com unveil the essential new shades emerging for the new winter season. Spanning Fashion Colours, Core Colours, Accents & Active and Metallics, see how these must-have shades will influence women’s fashion collections in F/W16-17. This week, FMAG readers are invited to discover a key Colour Group for Fall/Winter 2016-17, titled In the Darkened Shadow. Here, intensely dark tones that look almost black take on new colour casts, resulting in sophisticated shades that introduce depth to products.

In the Darkened Shadow

Midnight Aubergine

A classic midnight dark is saturated with rich aubergine undertones to create elegant wintertime looks. Evening dresses combine matte fabrics with plush velvet panels and embellishment, while oversized sunglasses add mystery with tinted lenses. The colour also works well on glossy leather accessories, such as miniature bags.

Black Onyx

A key Metallic for Fall/Winter 2016-17, Black Onyx brings a moody yet luxurious shine to the womenswear wardrobe. Coated fabrics catch the light in the form of structured midi skirts and snakeskin coats, which can be styled with statement jewellery for a decadent touch. Other interpretations demonstrate a play on texture, as metallic surfaces are juxtaposed with soft knit accessories.

Very Dark Navy

Navy is refreshed with a dimension of enhanced depth, inspiring shades of the darkest ink that look nearly black. Simple winter dresses express a formal feel, while supple unlined leathers are combined with matte suede on contemporary footwear. The colour also offers a dramatic shade for cosmetics, applied here in bold strokes around the eye.
