Paving the way for new belief systems, designers, artists, coders and engineers explore the meaning of cultural heritage, human connection and digital interactivity. This is an individual centric trend looking at the new “Self Help” and how we can experience our spirituality, happiness, anxieties, self-image through holistic digital avenues and ingenious ways of connecting with our deeper selves. A need to escape our everyday and seek significance prevails, reflecting the growing shift of consumers towards lifestyle and drug-free mind altering experiences.
This trend also taps into video game aesthetics, as we explore new virtual environments and cities, considering never before seen ways of connecting with leisure- as the virtual becomes a palpable reality and shapes a not-so-distant experience of the every day.

Moving into an age of poetic tech, designers investigate technology that is emotional and intuitive. As the world of augmented reality and virtual digital experiences opens up new doors and becomes more accessible, we are enabled to create legendary versions of ourselves and experiment with new beauty concepts, virtual fashion clothing and relaxing non-competitive video games enabling us to travel new worlds.

Traditional rituals from the Eastern and Southern hemispheres converge with sci-fi references and embrace the tension between the past and the future. We find meaning and significance in traditional decorative arts, propelling them into a contemporary vision of craft in an ongoing process of documenting the existing sheltered and local artisan cultures and combining them with a considered and futuristic design approach.

Architects and engineers propose new ways to deal with society’s evolving relationship with life, death, technology and the afterlife. This trend steps back and considers the larger issues in life and how a contemplative and peaceful experience can be recreated through the digital space. Softly taping into our deeper emotional needs, we create a new template for experiencing being human as life’s significance in the digital age engenders new beliefs.
