Nike, L’Oréal and Sephora amongst most-viewed on YouTube

Published
May 1, 2013

Luxury, fashion and beauty brands feature heavily in the ranking of the Top 500 Brands on brands on YouTube, the leading video hosting site.

Number of views per month and per video in each sector

As far a clothing brands, Nike Football, DC Shoes and Victoria’s Secret generated the most views, along with Old Spice, MAC Cosmetics and L’Oréal Paris (Spain) in the beauty sector. In terms of retail, Sephora takes the top spot, followed by Tiger Direct and Lego.

Along with Blackberry, Porsche and Luxury Hair, Outrigger Media cites DC Shoes as a brand to watch. The footwear brand, whose skateboarding lifestyle videos attract a young male demographic, is said to be “clearly committed to its content strategy”.

Dior is also cited as a brand to watch, not only for its catwalk and beauty videos, but also for its ‘Lady Dior’ Web documentary and ‘Secret Garden – Versailles’ short film. The study calls Dior’s audience ‘less consistent’ with a low subscriber-to-view ratio.
