Woolrich and New Balance release Made in USA capsule

New Balance and Woolrich have collaborated on a limited edition Made in the USA capsule collection of iconic footwear and a wool blanket that pay tribute to the brands' commitment to US manufacturing.

Woolrich x New Balance uses New Balance's Made US 997 men's shoe style for the collaboration. It features Woolrich’s custom woven high performance wool fabric on the shoe's vamp and tongue. The shoe was made in Maine at one of New Balance's five manufacturing locations.

The capsule collection also features a jacquard blanket woven in navy and grey to compliment the footwear. The blanket was woven at Woolrich's oldest woolen mill still in operation, which is located in Pennsylvania.

New Balance notes, "We’re proud to be the only major company to make or assemble more than 4 million pairs of athletic footwear per year in the USA, which represents a limited portion of our sales." When the footwear contains domestic value of 70% or greater, the shoes become part of New Balance's premium collection and are labeled Made in the USA.

The footwear and blanket will launch this weekend on both New Balance and Woolrich's e-commerce sites. The capsule collection will also be available in retail stores.
