Watchmaker Mido promotes a Big Ben-based competition for its new watch

Published
Aug 7, 2015

The designers have been given the theme of Big Ben, and chiefly its architecture, as the theme for the new watch.

The brand has chosen three projects, namely those by Sébastien Perret, Eric Giroud and Lorenzo Vallone. Visitors to the brand’s website can now vote until September 30th to elect their favourite model.

The winner will be announced on October 15th and the watch will be featured at the Basel show in March 2016, before hitting shelves as a limited edition.

The architecture of famous monuments the world over has often been a source of inspiration for Mido watches. The All Dial collection takes after Rome's Colosseum, while the Great Wall collection celebrates the Chinese Great Wall.

The Mido brand is present in 50 countries through 2,500 retailers.
