Valmont Barcelona Bridal Week joins the list of international fashion weeks announcing changes to their platforms amid the coronavirus crisis. Forced to reinvent itself in light of current travel restrictions, the bridal event has announced that a digital platform will be launched alongside the physical event this September.

Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will host a hybrid format this September - VBBFW

Now in its 30th season, the bridal show’s upcoming edition will take place on 4-10 September with a “flexible hybrid model”. The new format, it said, will allow it to adapt to the evolving situation in line with any new government advice.

The digital platform will feature the latest collections from a number of major bridal designers, while the physical event will host real-life presentations at Fira de Barcelona Montjuic centre.

Estermaria Laruccia, event director, said the new format will allow VBBFW to integrate “the best of the digital world with the physical one”, helping boost the Spanish bridal sector whilst also celebrating creativity, innovation and talent.

Jesús Díez, VBBFW president, added: “The international bridal fashion event returns, innovating and transforming itself to support an industry that needs to resume its commercial activity. In this regard, the holding of the event is a means, which is more necessary than ever, to contribute to the strength of this industry at a time as complex as the one we are currently experiencing.”

Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will be the first event to take place at Fira de Barcelona in the last fourth months of the year. In order to adapt the space to new regulation, the venue is working with experts to develop a new health and safety policy that will ensure conditions are safe for both exhibitors and visitors.
