Uniqlo September Japan sales continue rising trend

Published
Oct 4, 2022

Fast Retailing’s Uniqlo brand had another good month in its domestic Japanese market in September.

The retail giant said on Tuesday that September same-store sales — including online sales — increased by 11% year on year, while total sales rose as much as 14.1%.

The increase was, as usual, all down to the right kind of weather. The company said that comp sales rose as the drop in temperature in the latter half of the month helped generate strong sales of the brand’s AW22 clothing ranges.

The monthly figures were more good news coming after two successive months of healthy sales rises. The retailer had reported a total sales increase of 18.4% in August as the weather again played along with high temperatures supporting summer clothing sales.

Sales had also risen in July after a June dip with most months this year being in positive territory.
