Travelteq opens flagship store in Amsterdam

Dutch luggage and accessories brand Travelteq opened its first flagship store in Amsterdam. Following a year of operating pop-ups at various locations, the brand is now ready to settle in the city’s De 9 Straatjes district.

The store is designed by the Amsterdam-based Bricks Studio and focuses on the subject ‘life on the move’. In addition to its own collection of bags, trolleys and accessories, the Travelteq store also carries other brands and travel products such as Bose headsets, wireless chargers, Zenology travel cosmetics and Mendo coffee table books.

The shop also offers services, including a repair- and a customization service at the store, which fit the brand’s aim to operate a ‘brand experience store’.

Following the launch of its first store, Travelteq expects to further expand its concept later this year. The brand is currently in talks with Amsterdam’s airport, Schiphol and there are negotiations to open stores in Germany.

Dutch entrepreneurs Maarten van den Biggelaar and Michiel van Ogtrop founded Travelteq in 2009.  The brand is designed in Amsterdam, produced in Italy and distributed worldwide via its online store. In addition to its own brick-and-mortar, the brand is also available via Dutch retailers, including de Bijenkorf and Xbank.
