The Italian group Tod's has announced sales results for 2009 that were 0.8% higher than in 2008 at €713.1 million. This progression was helped in part by Hogan, which saw a rise of 7.6% to €256.9 million, whilst Roger Vivier saw the worst results with a drop of 11% in sales (€15 million).

Against expectation, Tod's remains the driving force of the group with a global turnover of €348.8 mullion, close to half of the group's total. This figure was up 2.2% in 2009 compared to the year previous.

True to the sector at its heart Italian group which owns its eponymous label as well as Hogan, Fay and Roger Vivier saw 71% of its turnover coming from the shoe industry. Shoes accounted for €506 million of the group's turnover, 4.2% more than the figure from 2008. On the other hand, leather goods (bags...) saw a drop of 12% to €111.4 million from €126.6 million in 2008. Sales at boutiques which the group owns had increased by 4.1% to €349.3 whereas sales at franchises and multibrand retailers were down 2.2% to €363.8 million.

Finally, as relates to the geographical distribution of the brand's activities, the Italian and Asian markets maintained a strong showing with increases of 5.5% and 7.5% to €405 million and €110 million respectively. This is compared to the rest of Europe and North America, which saw decreases of 6.4% and 6.5%.
