Feb 11, 2016

The womenswear International Woolmark Prize for 2015/16 will see its end this week on Friday. The womenswear final will be judged on February 12, 2016 as part of NYFW.

The six finalists will present their Merino Wool capsule collections to a panel of judges that include international industry figures. The finalists are J Koo of Asia; Bianca Spender of Australia; Teatum Jones of British Isles; Nanna Van Blaaderen of Europe; Taller Marmo of India, Pakistan & Middle East; and Tanya Taylor of the US.

Taller Marmo, the International Woolmark Prize finalist representing India, Pakistan and the Middle East.

“This year’s entrants show great diversity in their vision – which in turn shows the versatility of wool – and so like the menswear final, it is certain to be a tough decision,” says Stuart McCullough, Managing Director of The Woolmark Company.

The finalists were chosen from more than 70 nominees, and the winner will receive AU$100,000 to help support the development of their business as well as the presentation and sale of their capsule collection. This year, the winners will be selected by a judging panel that includes André Leon Talley, Imran Amed, Tim Blanks, Thakoon Panichgul, Colette Garnsey, Stuart McCollough, and Woolmark Prize retail partners Justin O’Shea of Mytheresa.com, Anita Barr of Harvey Nichols, and Roopal Patel of Saks Fifth Avenue among others.

Suketdhir was named the winner of the menswear International Woolmark Prize 2015/16 over Munsoo Kwon, P. Johnson, Agi & Sam, Jonathan Christopher and Siki Im. Past winners include M. Patmos and Public School, which won the first ever menswear IWP.
