The Bourget-based textile and garment tradeshows are being joined this season, February 11 to 14, by Texworld Denim. The latter, formerly a dedicated space, is now a fully-fledged event hosting 80 exhibitors, pending the arrival of the Leatherworld tradeshow this September.

A Texworld Denim conference - Messe Frankfurt

Previously divided between Texworld and Apparel Sourcing salons, exhibitors will now be united, those mostly Chinese, Pakistani and Indian brands, with 30% showcasing new apparel and 70% offering new materials. It's an opportunity for show organiser, Messe Frankfurt, to strengthen its overall denim offering by 35%.

Textile event Texworld will see the return of Turkish suppliers with "several dozen firms" confirmed, revealed organisers. China and Hong Kong will again represent the largest foreign contingent with South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia having a strong show presence this season too. The Embroidery-Lace space has increased in size this time round, as has Silk, Drapery & Tailoring and Jacquard.

Apparel Sourcing - Apparel Sourcing

As for the clothes, Apparel Sourcing will attract 300 exhibitors (up 10%), welcoming a dozen or so countries including Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, as well as China. The tradeshow "has been restructured to improve research time for visitors, and new sections Active Urban, Smart Elegant and Underwear have been set up."

The meeting will be once again be punctuated by a range of parades and conferences, addressing topics such as good sourcing practices, European foreign trade, Euro-Med and Burmese production, and finally, the trends of spring-summer 2019.
