Published
Feb 21, 2017

Nordstrom, for the fifth year in a row, has been named the nation’s favorite fashion retailer. Market Force Information polled over 10,000 consumers for the study that ranked the Seattle-based retailer as the number one fashion chain.

The study found that Nordstrom ranked first amongst fashion retailers with a score of 64%, a 6% increase from 2016, followed by Dillard’s at 54%, T.J. Maxx at 53%, and Ann Taylor, Kohl’s and Nordstrom Rack tied at 50%. Additional retailers on the list, in no particular order, include Macy’s, Target, H&M, American Eagle, Lane Bryant, Gap stores Old Navy and Banana Republic, JCPenney and Walmart.

In addition to being named the number one favorite retailer, Nordstrom topped the charts for store atmosphere, value for money spent, and ease of finding product. T.J. Maxx, American Eagle, and Dillard’s were named number one for merchandise selection, speed of checkout, and ability to create a look and ability to find the correct size, respectively. Ann Taylor was in the top 3 for all categories except for merchandise selection, which included T.J. Maxx, Ross Stores and Old Navy.

Nordstrom also topped the list of websites visited in the past 90 days, but it ranked 6th in online purchases. American Eagle topped the list of online purchases followed by H&M, Kohl’s, Macy’s and Walmart.
