Reiss opens St Pancras store as it commits to physical retail

Published

In its 50th anniversary year, Reiss is deepening its commitment to physical stores and this week opened a new location in London’s St Pancras. It’s the brand’s fourth opening this year and comes at a time when many brands are shutting stores.

The other three new shops are at London’s Liverpool Street, Cannock in Staffordshire, and another at Westfield Valley Fair in California. The latest opening and the Liverpool Street store clearly demonstrate the firm’s belief that life will eventually get back to normal with commuters and tourists ready to shop near the main London railway stations. As well as being commuter hubs, the two stations are key for tourists. Liverpool Street is the main station that connects to Stansted Airport and St Pancras houses the Eurostar terminal.

The company said the expansion programme follows “a soul-searching exercise that identified the pillars of the Reiss brand, encompassing its values, aesthetic, approach to style and customer services”.

The result? The store design “supports contemplation and relaxation”.

Creative Director James Spreckley worked with long-term partners D-Raw architects to create a shop where bleached wood and metal fixtures “give the brand’s sleek, modernist aesthetic a new guise, bringing texture and warmth into its retail spaces”.

Reiss said it’s aiming to get ever closer to its customer and Spreckley said that “by bringing touches of nature into these urban spaces, we give our customer a welcoming place to reflect and discover. Shopping is then a part of this journey”.

The St Pancras store carries the brand’s tailoring (another sign of its belief in a return to normality soon), as well as casual lounge and leisurewear for women and men, along with a selection of accessories. Additional services include personal shopping and click & collect.
