Budding models and runway regulars embark on a veritable catwalk marathon during each season's Fashion Weeks, walking a busy schedule of shows for some of fashion's most prestigious brands. While HyunJi Shin and Shanelle Nyasiase were last season's standouts, the American model Rebecca Leigh Longendyke rules the runways for the spring/summer 2019 season with no fewer than 43 shows to her name, according to the specialist website, Models.com.

The new runway star ...
The American top model, Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, stood out with her numerous appearances this latest Fashion Month, which ran during September and October, taking the throne as the season's most in-demand name at the recent shows. The blue-eyed blonde walked the runway for Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino, Max Mara, Moschino, Victoria Beckham and Ralph Lauren. She also opened the show for Stella McCartney and closed the show for Sonia Rykiel.

... followed by Fran Summers
Nineteen-year-old Fran Summers also stood out as one of the rising runway stars of this latest round of Fashion Week shows. The British model walked in 34 shows during this period, with one opening walk (Matty Bovan) and three closing walks (Sacai, Stella McCartney and Matty Bovan). Fran Summers also took to the catwalk for Chanel, Givenchy, Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent, Dior, Fendi, Prada and Burberry.

Adut Akech in demand
The South Sudanese model, Adut Akech, is one to watch in the coming seasons. She takes third place on the Fashion Month podium for spring/summer 2019, walking 33 shows. The 18-year-old was particularly in demand in New York, Milan and Paris, walking in shows for Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Versace, Prada, Calvin Klein, Coach, Burberry and Marc Jacobs. She was also picked to close the Chanel and Valentino shows.

Kaia Gerber, star of the shows
While Bella and Gigi Hadid were back turning heads on the Fashion Week runways this season, Kaia Gerber stood out as the real star of the spring/summer 2019 shows. Cindy Crawford's 17-year-old daughter -- who only made her runway debut a year ago -- showed professionalism and endurance this Fashion Month, lining up 26 shows. She walked the runway for some of the biggest names in the business, from Chanel and Ralph Lauren to Miu Miu, Coach, Calvin Klein, Fendi, Prada, Versace and Valentino. Expect this rising runway star to shine brightly in the coming years.
