Première Vision Sport postpones Portland and Boston editions until fall

Published

Originally planned for August, the Première Vision Sport trade shows have been postponed to fall, with the Portland edition now set to run September 29 through 30, while the Boston event will take place October 4 through 5.

Previously, the two events were scheduled to run August 11 through 12 and August 18 through 19, respectively. The trade shows dedicated to sports equipment will take place at the same time as The Material Show, which is focused on footwear.

"The American return was initially supposed to happen in mid-August. But it seems that the major players in the Portland region will only be reopening their offices and campuses in early September," Première Vision general manager Gilles Lasbordes told FashionNetwork.com, by way of explanation for the events' postponement.

The choice of location for the trade shows is no coincidence: Portland, Oregon's largest city, hosts the national and international HQ's of a number of sports brands, including Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Columbia, and Poler Stuff.

The announcement of the date change comes as Première Vision prepares for its first physical trade show in close to a year, which is set to take place June 30 through July 1. This "Fashion Rendez-vous" will bring together 190, mostly French and Italian, exhibitors, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, in the recently erected Temporary Grand Palais.
