Podcast: Manuel Mallen on redefining jewellery codes
Producing lab-grown diamonds is not an exact science. They are created using machines that replicate and accelerate the conditions in which natural diamonds are formed, and they can be far from flawless when they are made. Despite this risk, after working for many years in traditional luxury houses, Manuel Mallen decided to co-found jewellery brand Courbet with Marie-Ann Wachtmeister.

The founders' challenge was to set up a jewellery brand specialising in synthetic diamonds and recycled gold, and basing it in Paris in Place Vendôme, home to all of the world’s top jewellery names.
