Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter deliveries resume in UK

Published
May 6, 2020

Richemont’s luxury fashion e-tailers Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter have restarted deliveries from their UK sites almost six weeks after having halted them shortly after the lockdown began.

The company had begun taking orders late last month although delivery for many of them was still on hold for the time being. But with it having put various measures in place to ensure safe working for its staff, it's now back to an almost-business-as-usual approach.

The retailer had initially attempted to continue its business when the UK lockdown was first announced on March 23, but there were concerns among staff about the ability to maintain adequate social distancing in its South London logistics hub.

Net-A-Porter, like many other businesses, has been using the intervening weeks to put measures in place that will not only allow it to continue working while the lockdown is still on, but to deal with the transition period once lockdown measures begin to be eased.

Until now, UK visitors to its sites and its apps have been ordering for delivery at an unspecified point in the future, although some have also seen their orders fulfilled via the firm’s operational Asian site.
