Moncler and Hoka team up on limited-edition shoe

Global luxury brand Moncler and Deckers-owned performance footwear and apparel brand Hoka are teaming up to launch an exclusive footwear style.

Combining Hoka’s knowledge in performance footwear design with Moncler’s innovation in the down jacket category, the two brands have redesigned the Mafate Speed 2 to offer a high-performance mountain shoe.

Starting with innovative advancements such as a Vibram Megagrip outsole and added cushioning by the Hoka team, the Mafate Speed 2 was then updated with Moncler touches in silver with unmistakable tricolor detailing, and the iconic Moncler felt patch. The update offers an evolution of the first Hoka silhouette ever created.

“Moncler and Hoka share a clear passion for designing and producing high-quality performance wear that allows people of all athletic abilities to conquer the highest mountains,” Deckers said in a news statement. “This limited release was designed to master mountains and to meet the demands of modern city adventures with reflective features.”

The Moncler x Hoka collaboration will be sold at Moncler House of Genius stores, pop-ups, a selection of Moncler boutiques worldwide, starting November 1, as well as will be available at Hoka.com worldwide as of December 1.

Owned by Ugg parent company Deckers since 2013, Hoka has transformed into a fashion powerhouse with a series of collaborations now under its belt.

With performance footwear still at the core of the brand's business, Hoke has partnered with a number of brands to introduce its line to a wider audience. Most recently, Hoke teamed up with Seoul-based fashion brand Thisisneverthat (TINT) to make a footwear and apparel collection.
