This Wednesday, February 15, Modtissimo returns to Exponor for an exhibition on all things new in the textile industry. The only Portuguese textile trade fair and the oldest in the Iberian Peninsula is preparing to open its 60+1 edition with a full house.

Modtissimo, Feburary 15 and 16

Pointing out in a press release the "climate of high demand, both from exhibitors and buyers", the Selectiva Moda Association, which organises the event, indicated that on February 15 and 16 at Pavilion 5 of Exponor, a total of 200 exhibitors and 346 collections will be present. They will be divided into the following areas: fabrics, accessories, fabric agents, adult and children's wear manufacturers and services, with a special focus on the "green and innovative aspect."

The outcome of this year's first edition is very promising, stresses Manuel Serrão, CEO of the Selectiva Moda Association: "We are at full capacity and we have a larger space than last February's edition. Buyer registrations are also running at a good pace, with a higher turnout than other years at the same period."

Highlighting the support of the different AICEP delegations, the CEO said that the event already has more than 130 confirmed international buyers, as well as press members from various countries. In addition, more than 300 international buyers have already registered on the Modtissimo platform, he said.

Something that Serrão explains by the weight of the Portuguese textile sector at an international level: "Portugal has the largest textile cluster in Europe and its meeting point is twice a year at Modtissimo. In two days, the whole sector will come together allowing both exhibitors and buyers to find innovative solutions and to get in touch with all the suppliers, technological centres, associations, universities and training centres".

In addition to presenting the exhibitors' innovations, Modtissimo has planned, as usual, a parallel program, with lectures and trend presentations, and three forums including the iTechStyle Showcase, organized by CITEVE together with ASM, the Trends in Textiles and the New Talents Forum.
