Moda prioritises community feeling with launch of 'neighbourhoods'

The next edition of Moda, taking place on 23-25 February, will see the fashion trade show’s floorplan replace sectors with ‘neighbourhoods’ in an effort to strengthen its sense of community.

Moda

Considered one of the UK’s top trade fashion fairs, Moda announced that the move will support the creation of ‘micro-communities’ for the most exciting footwear, accessories and womenswear exhibitors.

Adam Gough, event director of Moda said: “When it came to brainstorming our 2020 theme and direction, the first thing that sprung to mind was community.

“With a new decade approaching, we wanted to bring our focus back to the faces behind the brands, collections, stores and build on their stories.

“The new Neighbourhoods will reflect that community and our Moda manifesto which positions fashion as an outlet of self-expression and a sense of belonging – a community of individuals collaborating, innovating and inspiring one another.”

There will be four core neighbourhoods at the upcoming show: for womenswear, menswear, footwear and footwear sourcing. The latter is a new area launching next year to bring the entire footwear supply chain under one roof.

Footwear is Moda’s largest sector, and more than 100 brands have signed up for the upcoming event, including Caprice, Tamaris, Xti, Refresh, Carvela, Unisa, Peter Kaiser, Alpe, Fly London and Nero Giardini.

The show will be held at the end of February to avoid clashing with European show Micam.
