Mansur Gavriel moves into menswear

Cult fashion label Mansur Gavriel is branching out into men's accessories, it announced on Instagram.




The US label, which is famous for its luxury leather bags, has launched a series of 11 pieces for men for Pre-Fall 2018. The styles range from briefcases and backpacks to totes and wallets, in a color palette spanning beige, black, navy, rusty red and olive green. The collection will be followed up with a second series for the upcoming Fall/Winter season, featuring ready-to-wear apparel.

The news is the latest big move for the brand, which was founded by Mansur and Floriana Gavriel in 2012. The label won the CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessory Design in 2015 and the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year Award in 2016, before confirming its reputation earlier this year, when the American Apparel & Footwear Association named it ‘Fashion Maverick' as part of its 2018 American Image Awards. The label also broke into ready-to-wear clothing last September.
