Make it British Live to go ahead as planned despite Covid-19 fears

Published

Make it British Live is taking a ‘keep calm and carry on’ approach to coronavirus corncens, announcing its March event will go ahead as scheduled.

Make it British Live

The event, which showcases UK-based manufacturers and suppliers of textiles, clothing and homeware, is set to take place on 17-18 March at the Business Design Centre.

Organisers posted an update on the event’s website, saying they have been monitoring the situation closely and fully intend for the event to go ahead.

“We are monitoring the Coronavirus situation carefully and regularly and should the current situation change, we will be updating this information and notifying our registered visitors and exhibitors. The health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff is our number one priority,” the statement read.

Organised by Kate Hills, the show aims to provide a platform for buyers and designers seeking sourcing opportunities within the UK -- something many fashion companies could be considering now that the coronavirus outbreak has sparked concerns for supply chain disruption.

The event draws visitors from all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, however it issued a warning to travellers from countries and regions including China, Iran, Northern Italy, Japan and Vietnam, asking them to avoid attending even if they don’t have symptoms.

At the venue, there will be a team focusing on frequently cleaning ‘high-touch’ areas such as ATM machines, photocopiers, door handles and handrails.
