Macy’s taps Versace, Movado and Coach for second exclusive watch drop program
Apr 25, 2019
Department store chain Macy’s has announced its second watch drop program, unveiling a selection of 17 limited-edition men’s and – for the first time – women’s timepieces from a range of luxury and specialty watch brands.
While the retailer’s first series of watch drops last fall was limited to men’s pieces, the program’s latest incarnation features five women’s watches, all of which launched on Wednesday, April 24, at an event attended by stylist Danielle Nachmani.
At the lower end of the offering’s price range, two Michael Kors 19mm Petite Runway Wrap watches featuring a stainless-steel double-wrap bracelet and a glittering inner dial retail at $450 and $550.
At $1,995, the most expensive of the women’s pieces, the Coach 36mm Special Edition Delancey watch with diamonds, boasts a mother-of-pearl dial, a blue sapphire bezel and an alligator leather strap.
The Movado Amorosa Ladies bangle watch ($495) rounds out the women’s offering and is available with a pink or blue dial.
The men’s watches, all 12 of which will drop on May 15, range in price from $115 for The Minimalist by Fossil to $2,500 for the Baume & Mercier 42mm Clifton Club Automatic, which comes with both a stainless-steel bracelet and a calfskin strap.
Other standouts in the men’s offering include the super-retro Bulova Digital LED Computron ($350), the iconic Versace Palazzo Empire ($1,695) and Victorinox Swiss Army’s The I.N.O.X Carbon LE ($995).
The drop also includes the Tie-up Mudmaster ($350), a collaborative effort from G-Shock and conservation-focused non-profit Wildlife Promising, which features enhanced dirt resistance and sensors for compass bearing and temperature.
The remainder of the men’s offering includes watches from Tissot, Diesel, Hamilton and Citizen.
All pieces have been specially conceived or re-issued for Macy’s and will be available exclusively on the retailer’s website and in a select number of its brick-and-mortar locations.
