German luxury brand MCM has reopened its Tokyo flagship store.

Spreading over nine floors, the new store is the largest MCM space in the world - MCM

Named after the district in which it is located, the ‘Ginza House I’ store is 36.5 metres tall and spreads over nine floors, becoming the largest MCM store in the world following its renovation. The first three floors are dedicated to MCM’s lifestyle collections, a showroom and a VIP lounge, while the other floors showcase the brand’s culture, craftsmanship and creativity, it said.

The Ginza House I reopening is the third MCM megastore to open this year following the Experience Store in Berlin and a flagship store on the US West Coast. The building also houses a café where customers can relax and immerse themselves in the brand’s rich heritage.

A gallery will feature a revolving series of exhibitions that are “reminiscent of MCM's vision for innovation”. And a an exclusive MCM collection will launch for Spring Summer 2019 in the second half of the year in the Tokyo store.

The flagship was first opened in 2014, marking MCM's expansion into Japan.
