Canadian luxury swimwear label Shan is diving into new waters with the launch of its first ready-to-wear collection.

Known for its high-end resort wear lines, the 35-year-old Quebec-based brand is adding to its portfolio a 2020 collection for women that can be worn all-year long.

“A ready-to-wear collection came as a natural progression to us,” said Chantal Levesque, Shan founder, designer and CEO, in a news statement.

“We wanted to continue pushing boundaries of our resort wear collection to offer our customers year-long options that suit their lifestyle, from vacation to everyday activities.”

Described by Levesque as “timeless, versatile, comfortable & high-quality”, the collection was built to be aligned with the brand’s core values of quality and local craftsmanship.

As for the designs, the collection was inspired by Japan with a mix of structured and fluid pieces that can easily be mixed-and-matched. Leopard print can be found throughout the collection, with a mix of high performance, technical and eco-friendly fabrics.

“This first ready-to-wear collection from Shan is in line with our global development strategy. Our team’s creativity, expertise and vision brought this new line to life as the perfect addition to our product offering,” added Jean-François Sigouin, vice-president of sales and marketing.

“This new launch instigates a tremendous opportunity to grow our international market shares, while utilizing our established distribution network.’’

Founded in 1985, Shan is available in over 700 points-of-sales across 32 countries including France, United States, United Kingdom, Russia and Australia. The company also operates eight flagship stores with products 100 percent made in Canada.

The brand’s first ready-to-wear collection is now available online and in Shan stores.
