Love Island gives extra boost to on-trend Crocs
Footwear brand Crocs has been enjoying something of a revival in popularity and this latest publicity can only propel demand further.
Data from The Sole Supplier reveals Crocs has seen a 1,300% spike in demand thanks to contestants on Channel 4's latest Love Island series wearing its distinctive casual footwear.
Demand for 'lilac crocs' has leapt 950% following contestant Chugg briefly wearing his plastic clogs while fellow contestant Faye has also caused a 324% spike in searches for ‘white crocs’.
Wider publicity includes celebrity endorsements from the likes of American rapper Post Malone, Justin Beiber and Nicki Minaj, who caused a reported 4,900% increase in searches for ‘pink crocs’ on announcing the release of her mixtape, ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’.
Clogs have also become a breakout category this year, with searches up 242% on the latest Lyst Index.
