LVMH brand Louis Vuitton will open its largest flagship store in Japan in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi on February 1 and will open its first Vuitton café and restaurant inside the flagship store on February 15.

The new Louis Vuitton flagship store in Osaka will open a cafe named 'Le Café V' and restaurant 'Sugalabo V' on the top floor of its 'Osaka Maison'. The first four floors of the seven-storey building, adjacent to the Prada flagship store on Shinsaibashi’s Midosuji shopping street, will be dedicated to retail with fine dining housed on the seventh floor.

Le Café V will serve-up a menu by Japanese chef Yosuke Suga, as well as an adjoining bar and terrace. The Sugalabo V restaurant will only serve dinner and will mirror the famous open-kitchen of Sugalabo’s Tokyo restaurant.

The brand’s Osaka flagship store will open in a new building designed by architect Jun Aoki, who has previously worked with the luxury brand on stores both in Japan and overseas. The design is reminiscent of Osaka's history and inspired by the Higaki Kaisen (historical boat).

The interior of the boutique, from floors one to four, has been designed by Peter Marino. The store’s window display for its upcoming launch will be produced by Japanese artist Kenta Cobayashi who collaborated with Louis Vuitton for its fall/winter menswear campaign.

To celebrate the store opening, Louis Vuitton will launch a range of limited edition items from its spring/summer 2020 collection in-store. Items that will be available include a lapis lazuli necklace and a limited run of 50 watches engraved with 'Midosuji Limited' after the street the store will open on.
