Louboutin launches baby shoes capsule collection

No vertiginous stiletto-heeled pumps this time - instead, a series of classic baby shoes, their straps decorated with a bow and the soles, of course, in signature Louboutin red. For the first foray into the newborn/infant segment, Christian Louboutin has designed three baby shoe models, one in red satin and two in different prints.

The baby shoes collection by Christian Louboutin - Christian Louboutin

Until now, the luxury Parisian footwear label had never created baby shoes, apart from as an exception for some very special customers: the germ of the idea sprouted up last year after a collaboration with actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whose lifestyle site/e-store, Goop, featured exactly the same model, though with different colours.

The venture must have proved successful, since Louboutin is replicating it, introducing this new capsule collection exclusively on its e-shop. The shoes are produced in Louboutin’s Italian factory.

The limited-edition collection features one style, in a size suitable for babies aged from 6 to 9 months, and in three different models, with graphics inspired by the designs developed for the Spring/Summer 2019 adult collection. In total, only 600 pairs will be put on sale from Friday November 9, priced at €195 ($250) each.

For Christian Louboutin it is a way of testing the market before launching fully into this new segment, adding baby shoes to its men's and women’s range.
