L’Oréal names first chief transformation officer, North America

Beauty giant L’Oréal USA announced on Thursday the appointment of Rahquel Purcell as the company’s first-ever chief transformation officer for L’Oréal’s North America Zone. 

In this role, Purcell, who has been with the company for seven years, will lead the newly formed North America transformation office. She will equally lead a transformation agenda created to adapt and evolve L’Oréal’s operating models, including core processes, ways of working, organizational design and business tools. 

“As the largest subsidiary of L’Oréal Group, our ability to proactively respond to the changing landscape of the market is key in driving our continued growth and industry leadership,” said David Greenberg, L’Oréal USA’s CEO and president of North America, a position he has held since February. 

“The development of the transformation office under Rahquel’s leadership is an opportunity to continuously drive an ambitious, strategic evolution of our business model across operations and functions, organizational design, core business tools and more.”  

Purcell has more than two decades of supply chain management experience. Most recently, as chief operations officer, North America, she worked at the forefront of the company’s efforts to respond to the pandemic's market conditions.

This role has well positioned her to lead this new strategic mission and will allow her to continue to drive transformation of critical workstreams across the enterprise. Prior to joining L’Oréal in 2016, she spent over two decades at Procter & Gamble.

L'Oréal USA is the largest subsidiary of the L'Oréal Group, and manages over 35 iconic beauty brands. In August, L'Oréal opened its second company headquarters in the United States on the West Coast, in El Segundo, California, a city located in Los Angeles County.
