Kering reorganizes its Diversity & Inclusion department

Kering is strengthening its Diversity & Inclusion team. After Kalpana Bagamane Denzel (former Chief of Diversity, Inclusion, and Talent who was hired at the end of 2019) left the company at the beginning of the year, the luxury giant is overhauling its organization, focusing on a more regionally diverse management.

Tania Castillo Pérez, who was hired as Group Talent, Diversity & Inclusion Impact Manager in May 2021, will be promoted to Head of Diversity & Inclusion. A graduate of ENA (Ecole Nationale d'Administration), she worked for Capgemini for ten years, where she held various positions, including Corporate Social Responsibility Director.

Kering has also announced two new hires. Jenny Wong has been appointed as regional diversity & inclusion manager for Asia Pacific while Maria Luisa Pulido was given the same position for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). The team is expecting to be completed by an equivalent appointment for the Americas.

Wong arrives at the company after working for over seven years at the Hong Kong-based conglomerate, John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Ltd, in its diversity and inclusion department. Pulido joined Kering at the end of 2021. She previously worked for the L'Oréal Group in the luxury division’s human resources department.

"Diversity and inclusivity have always been at the heart of our values and culture. In recent years, we have multiplied concrete actions to further improve inclusivity," said Chief People Officer Béatrice Lazat. "We have realized that the regional level is essential to implement the diversity and inclusivity strategy once it’s been decided, because it is essential to be sensitive to all cultures and social contexts. In our current journey, the time has come to take this next step to further accelerate the implementation of these programs to all levels of the group," she emphasized.

The group has created Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) committees in all of its owned companies and geographic areas in recent years. More than 60 executive managers have participated in various mentoring programs and more than 42,000 employees have received diversity training as part of the annual "Ethics" course. The CEOs and management teams of all of the conglomerate’s brands and regions, including its human resources managers, have been educated in this matter and encouraged to implement concrete actions.
