Izipizi opens more London eyewear stores

Published
Mar 28, 2023

French eyewear brand Izipizi is doubling its store presence in London, adding two new stores to the city’s retail offer this spring.

Izipizi

It becomes only the latest eyewear brand from France to target the UK market with Jimmy Fairly and Bloobloom also opening even more stores, although Izipizi’s pricing Is below that of both those brands.

The first new Izipizi store since debuting on Carnaby Street in 2019 and in Covent Garden earlier this year, has opened on Camden High Street. The other will open on the King’s Road in April.

Reflecting six years of “notoriety & success” in London with spaces at Harrods, Selfridges, Tate Museum and Fortnum & Mason, the brand also hosted two pop-up stores in Kings Cross St Pancras Station and Battersea Power Station last year.

Quentin Couturier, co-founder of Izipizi, said: “After an important deployment in Paris in the last few years, it was only natural that we decided to accelerate our development in London, with new iconic addresses in the city. It is a great pride for the whole team to realise this beautiful project in this city that we love and that is often described as 'the centre of the retail world'.”

Fashion eyewear retail has been a major growth sector since the end of the pandemic with many brands, both domestic and international, expanding into key retail areas including high streets and shopping centres.

And while the London market in particular may seem to be getting rather crowded, it's clear that there's a strong market for the particular type of eyewear that the French labels are offering. Combining own-brand, affordable/premium, pricing and strong personal service, they’re filling a key gap not necessarily met by the large optician chains already in Britain.
