House of Masaba made its debut in Thailand over the weekend with a pop-up shopping event in Bangkok in collaboration with Bridal Prive Diaries.

On May 19, Masaba Gupta’s fusion wear brand, House of Masaba, set up shop in Bangkok. The pop-up store was located at the Gallery at the Radisson Blu in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit district and the event ran all day.

Gupta brought her latest collection for spring/summer 2018 to the pop-up and this included an array of gowns and sarees designed for destination weddings as well as more whimsical, casual pieces featuring Gupta’s most recent palm-tree print.

From the photos shared by Gupta across her social media platforms, the majority of guests at the RSVP shopping event appeared to be Indian expats in the city.

Heralding the event a success, Gupta wrote: “Thank you for all your love, we look forward to visiting Bangkok again!!”

Gupta did not specify whether this would be in the form of another pop-up event or something more permanent but, either way, it appears that her first foray into the Thai market was a success.

The pop-up shop took place in collaboration with Bridal Prive Diaries, a bridal and lifestyle exhibition business. Gupta has recently taken her current collection to the US and Singapore for pop-up shopping events in collaboration with organisations there and, considering the multitude of pop-up shops the brand has hosted this year, the concept appears to be doing well.
