Gap and Patrick Robinson produce their first feminine fragrance

Published
Jan 4, 2010

The new fragrance from Gap and Patrick Robinson has been presented as the “last step in the modernisation of Gap” as well as an “invitation to get closer”. Close, the new perfume from the American giant is the result of a collaboration between a shock trio of Patrick Robinson, head of design at Gap, the perfumer Givaudan and the Interparfums group.

Distributed at Sephora and in the Gap network of boutiques from the 19th of January (€24 for 100ml, €17 for 50ml and €6 for 10ml), Close opens with a hint of almond and citrus, followed by a delivery of white flowers – freesia, jasmine, daphnes and stephanotis. The fragrance brings to mind warmth and sensual femininity with its sandalwood tones and a touch of vanilla.

The perfume will be housed in a “oval shaped, crystalline” bottle that again expresses “pure sensuality and modern simplicity”.

“Being sexy is one of the facets of life, and I wanted to make that the principal characteristic of this perfume. It should be sexy, sensual and beautiful,” concluded the artistic director.
