Fenty launches new cameo jewelry collection

Published
Oct 31, 2019

Rihanna’s luxury fashion brand Fenty is celebrating the beauty of black women with the release of a new collection of jewelry, making its debut under the brand’s ‘Release 10-19: Cameo'.

Fenty

The three-piece collection celebrates the African woman’s beauty, the brand said, with a design that puts a new spin on ancient styles of cameo jewelry, such as cameos of Eros worn by women in ancient Greece.

Featuring a black woman in profile, her hair in box braids tied in buns, the collection includes a ring, a pair of earrings and a pendant that doubles as a brooch. All pieces are sculpted from relief, framed in Swarovski pearl ornaments and glass beads, and made of glass and both transparent and black resin.

The jewelry was shot on-model by Nigerian photographer Ruth Ossai with hair styled by Issac Poleon.

Launched online at fenty.com on October 30, prices for the cameo jewelry line range from $340 to $530. The release joins jewelry pieces from Fenty’s premiere drop in May of this year.

The new collection from the LVMH-backed Fenty comes as the value of the global luxury jewelry market continues to grow, thanks to factors like increasing disposable income among shoppers and consumer interest in high quality and ethical jewelry.

According to a report from market research company Grand View Research, the global luxury jewelry market size was estimated at $39.33 billion USD in 2018 and is projected to expand at a CAGR of 7.6% from 2019 to 2025.
