The Estée Lauder Companies has appointed Jane Lauder to the new role of executive vice president, enterprise marketing and chief data officer, and named Michelle Freyre as senior vice president, global general manager, Clinique.

Jane Lauder; Michelle Freyre - The Estée Lauder Companies

Both women will begin their new roles on July 1, 2020.

Lauder will report directly to Fabrizio Freda, president and CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies.

As the beauty company's first-ever enterprise marketing and chief data officer, Lauder will lead company strategy with a focus on generating growth through data and digitally-driven initiatives.

Lauder, who is the granddaughter of Estée Lauder, has served with ELC for over 23 years, most recently as the global brand president of Clinique. In the role, she led the transformation of brand strategy, distribution, product innovation and consumer reach, oversaw the development of new products and skincare technologies, and tripled Clinique’s online business, the company said.

In her new role, Lauder will continue to guide the company's enterprise-wide transformation initiative focused on growing ELC’s business and digital fronts. In the process, she will lead multiple groups, including global corporate marketing, marketing and consumer supported technology and business insight and analytics.

Lauder and her team will also manage the company's strategic digital partnerships, forming marketing partnerships with industry giants like Facebook and Google, and building relationships with emerging influential players in the marketing, digital and consumer engagement space, the company said.

Finally, she will also grow the company’s investments in talent management and capabilities within the marketing and consumer engagement teams.

“We are focused on delivering the very best, high-quality products that leverage consumer insights from our enhanced data analytics, and I am confident that [Lauder] is the right person to lead this important area of the business,” said Freda. “[Lauder's] unique combination of understanding high-touch consumer experiences, and data analytics and insights, will further strengthen our innovative product offerings and experiences for our consumers globally.”

Lauder will be succeeded at Clinique by Freyre.

In the role, Freyre will be responsible for guiding the brand’s overall strategic vision, including innovation, product development and marketing, and all facets of consumer and digital engagement. She will also collaborate with members of the global Clinique leadership team to build the brand's international growth, and will work with her team to develop new retail experiences for the brand.

Prior to joining Estée Lauder, she served for nearly 20 years in a variety of leadership roles for Johnson & Johnson, most recently holding the role of president, U.S. beauty. Previously, she also served as general manager of Neutrogena
