Dunhill's Ginza flagship store reopens with new design
UK designer brand Dunhill London has unveiled its revamped flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo, complete with an upmarket bar, a barber shop and a dedicated shoe lounge.
Described as its most important market, Japan’s Dunhill Home store now features a metal and glass façade which leads to an open and clean space.
The brand’s latest collections by creative director Mark Weston are showcased there, with the formal collections, contemporary casualwear and accessories showing all the different facets of the Dunhill man’s wardrobe.
Bronzed brass and wood, together with black leather and back metal details illustrate the luxury label’s design codes whilst creating what has been described as a ‘masculine shopping experience’.
Meanwhile, a shoe lounge showcases a range of newly launched sneakers and handmade English shoes, and a tailoring room offers bespoke and made-to-measure services.
“It is an incredibly exciting time for Dunhill as we continue to build and share our new vision for the house. Our new Ginza store brings a completely elevated brand experience to our most important market and further cements our position as the leader of British luxury menswear,” said CEO Andrew Maag.
The first and second floors are home to the Dunhill Bar, run by chef Yoshihisa Akiyama, head chef of the restaurant Ginza Mutsukari. The bar serves Japanese contemporary fusion food with a British twist, with signature dishes including Wagyu beef tartar with mint sauce and mashed potatoes.
There is also a barber service on the first floor, operated in partnership with the Barba Tokyo, a new traditional barber brand.
