Dress Barn raises 2010 fiscal year earnings view

Jan 11 (Reuters) - Women's clothing retailer Dress Barn Inc (DBRN.O) raised its earnings outlook for fiscal 2010 for the second time in two months citing better-than-expected holiday season sales and margin performance.

The company said it now expects to earn $1.40 to $1.50 per share for fiscal 2010 ending July 31, up 5 cents from its previous estimate of $1.35 to $1.45.
Same-store sales for the holiday season rose 10 percent on a consolidated basis, with Justice, its Tween girls' fashion brand, accounting for a 17 percent increase, Dress Barn said in a statement.
Dress Barn acquired teen apparel seller Tween Brands in November last year.
Shares the Suffern, New York-based company touched a new year-high of $25.50 in early trade but pared the gains and were down 2 percent at $24.40 in midday trade Monday 11 January on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Shobhana Chadha in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
