Dover Street Market has confirmed rumours that it is opening a new retail experience by announcing the opening of a Dover Street Parfums Market in Paris in October.

This will be the beginning of a new chapter for the multi-brand retailer, which opened its first store in London in 2004 before setting up further locations in New York City, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing and Los Angeles.

The brand, founded by Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo and her husband Adrian Joffe, created a new website and social media accounts for the new Dover Street Parfums Market location.

The space will open at 11 bis rue Elzévir in the fashionable Marais district on 2 October.

The company’s website said this is “the first of a new idea to make satellite stores” based on DSM merchandising categories.

Given DSM’s links to Comme des Garçons, the new Dover Street Parfums Market is likely to stock the brand’s range of perfumes, which includes about 60 fragrances, as well as a selection of beauty products from other brands.

On its Instagram account, Dover Street Parfums Market shared images from Gucci Beauty, plant-based skincare brand Votary London, make-up firm Edward Bess and serum exert Melanie Simon.

Interestingly, this will be Dover Street Market’s first store in Paris, fuelling speculation that the retailer will seek to fill the gap left by the closure of concept store Colette in 2017.
