Dior Suite: luxury pampering and branding above Cannes red carpet

Published
May 30, 2022

It’s the best apartment in the best hotel at the best film festival in the world. Little wonder then that Dior Suite felt like a magnet during the recent annual Festival de Cannes.

Anne Hathaway and Julianne Moore both came by for the best hair and makeup treatment before descending to the red carpet below, as Cannes celebrated its 75th anniversary.

Located in the southwestern corner of the sixth floor of the Hôtel Majestic, Suite Dior was the most privileged beauty appointment for stars and celebrities at the festival. Its balconies boast expansive sea views and a perfect vista down on to the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals, where all the major screenings are held.

“It’s really quite a complicated operation,” smiled Jérôme Pulis, Parfums Christian Dior's global communication chief, as he gazed down from one balcony. Standing beside him a photographer with a 600mm telephoto lens skillfully capturing VIPs arriving on the red carpet. Providing crisp photos of stars dressed in their finest, many by Dior, made available immediately for global media.

Tom Hanks led the posse of actors for the projection of Elvis, Baz Luhrmann’s  lush biopic of Presley, starring Austin Butler as the singer.

Dior Suite is decorated in the colors of Dior, a blend of its classic dove gray; crisp white and tropical toile de jouy, in the latest variation of the house’s signature print by couturier Maria Grazia Chiuri.

“We like our guests to feel at home, in a place that displays our Dior products in a beautiful setting,” remarks Pulis, the brainchild behind Dior Suite, which also acts as an ideal location for interviews with boldface-name stars.

Zahra Amir Ebrahimi was made up by Dior when she received the Best Actress award, and the house dressed the likes of Maggie Gyllenhaal, Amira Casar, Lucie Zhang, Rebecca Hall, Laura Morante and Emmanuelle Devos for the red carpet. While the likes of Viggo Mortensen, François Cluzet, Pierre Niney, jury president Vincent Lindon, and football superstar Kylian Mbappé wore Dior by Kim Jones.

A team of 14 make-up artists, five hairstylists from the Leonor Greyl team and three nail artists offer celebrities tailor-made preparations every day. While a nail bar also offers the opportunity to beautify your hands with the Dior Vernis line.

And, once nails are dry, stars could enjoy a glass of bubbly from a terrace with an unbeatable Mediterranean view.

The suite is also a temple of skincare expertise. Dior welcomed facialists for the first time this festival to offer a specialized service that prepares the skin for make-up. Two 15-minute treatments are available to relax, illuminate and lift the face, combining the expert gestures of facialists and the excellence of Dior Prestige treatments.

Catherine Bourgeois and Delphine Langlois, renowned facialists and founder of the first school of facialists in France and abroad, lend the expert hands of their team to Dior. Offering a quiet moment for pampering in the midst of the noisy bustle of the festival below.

Also on display in Dior Suite are Lucibel masks, a new high-tech lighting technique that beautifies the skin. It can also be tested and adopted exclusively at the Spa Cheval Blanc and at 30 Montaigne back in Paris.

For the second festival in a row, a personalized Dior beauty treatment was also offered on La Terrasse by Albane located on the rooftop of the JW Marriott Hotel, the most happening nightclub in the most prestigious celebration of cinema on the planet.
