Next January, Converse will introduce on the market its new collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. The Nike-owned American sneakers brand has signed a licence deal for its eyewear with optics giant Marchon Eyewear.

Converse

The deal covers the development, worldwide launch and distribution of 16 sunglasses models and 43 eyeglasses frames, whose style will be inspired by the US brand's heritage, and especially by the most renowned, iconic Converse sneakers, like the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Pro Leather. Converse's eyewear line will incorporate the brand’s distinctive design features, like the All Star label and the Star Chevron logo.

“We are excited to announce our partnership with Marchon Eyewear,” said Jon Tappan, vice-president/general manager of Apparel & Accessories at Converse. “As we work to strengthen the Converse accessories business, we know that Marchon's expertise in the eyewear segment will complement and enhance our efforts to create products that serve the needs of our consumers, while enabling them to express their individual style.”

Converse's new eyewear line will be available worldwide at selected specialist retailers, and also online on eyeconic.com. Marchon was already a partner of Nike. The eyewear specialist sells its products through a global network of subsidiaries and distributors, serving over 80,000 clients in more than 100 countries. Marchon’s licence portfolio notably includes labels like Calvin Klein, DKNY, Lacoste, Longchamp, Salvatore Ferragamo and Victoria Beckham.
