Coach opens at expanding Trafford Centre

Published
Oct 17, 2019

Coach is continuing its rollout around the UK with the high-end accessories label having opened its latest location inside Intu’s Trafford Centre in Manchester.

The opening at the high-traffic mall is Coach’s first standalone in the North West of England and puts it at the heart of what has become Britain’s second city in fashion terms in recent years. Many of the newest fashion retail disruptors are based in and around Manchester.

Designed by Coach’s in-house team, the 657 sq ft store features a “new modern luxury interior concept” that includes leather furniture and bespoke fittings. The boutique offers a full range of both men’s and women’s leathergoods.

Trafford Centre has a strong track record of adding to its overall brand offer in recent periods with luxury kidswear retailer Kids Cavern having opened at the centre. It carries over 120 of the world’s biggest designer brands including Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, and Givenchy

Meanwhile Selfridges also completed a refurbishment of its accessories hall there this year with new brands including Aspinal of London, The Restory, FROG and Astrid and Miyu.

And Intu should have more news to come on new tenants with the company currently working on a £75 million transformation of the centre’s Barton Square area, which will add another 110,000 sq ft of space.

The makeover will also add a new glass-domed roof and a fully redesigned interior that will open next spring.
