Brioni picks Matt Dillon as testimonial for its new Tailoring Legends campaign

Brioni has chosen Matt Dillon to be the testimonial for its new winter 2020 Tailoring Legends campaign, the latest Hollywood A-lister to be connected to the classy gentleman’s marque.

Matt Dillon, the new face of Brioni in its Tailoring Legends campaign

“Considered one of the most respected actors of his generation, Dillon reinforces the brand’s bond with Hollywood,” Brioni said in a release.

Founded in 1945 in Rome, Brioni is one of Italy’s greatest sartorial menswear brands. Everyone from Clark Gable and John Wayne to Cary Cooper and Henry Fonda has dressed in Brioni.

Brioni suits were worn by Pierce Brosnan in all his Bond movies and by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, notably the tuxedo worn during the famous poker scene.

Dillon is one of the most versatile actors of working today, who has appeared in 63 feature films, starting as a teenage rebel in Over the Edge in 1979. He was nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe for his role as a racist policeman in Paul Haggis’ Crash; and received plaudits for his performances as a doped-up gang leader in Drugstore Cowboy, an obsessive private detective in There’s Something About Mary and in The House That Jack Built, where he portrayed a serial killer in Lars Von Trier's 2018 film that premiered in Cannes.

Born in New Rochelle, New York, 55-year-old Dillon has also directed his own feature film, the critically acclaimed City of Ghosts in 2002.

Since 2002, Brioni has been part of the French luxury group Kering, which has changed the creative director of the brand four times, and last October appointed Norbert Stumpfl as design director.

For Brioni, Dillon appears with his strong tough-sensitive character, captured by photographer Gregory Harris, the black and white images highlighting Dillon’s diverse personality and ability to bring an individual sense of style to a selection of the brand's tailoring, ready to wear and eveningwear.
Dillon succeeds Brosnan, Anthony Hopkins and Samuel L. Jackson as the face of the brand.
