Published
Aug 19, 2010

Sainsbury’s and Mothercare will be among the retailers participating in the retail mentoring program at 2010’s BLE trade show. Legal, technical and financial questions will be answered. The show takes place 28-30 September at London’s Grand Hall, Olympia.

Supported by Advanstar Communications, one-to-one training and shadowing opportunities have been set-up for nominated junior and assistant buyers. While at the event itself industry terminology and brands’ rights are explained to assist industry professionals with effective decision-making through the Retail Buyers Centre and during the 9 seminars.

Fashion buyers and retailers such as; Avon, Burton, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Next plc, Peacocks and Vogue International will be visiting exhibitors, looking out for the next licensing opportunities for their stores.

Head of Childrenswear Buying at Sainsbury’s John Carolan said: “We take a team to the show every year and it is an invaluable industry event for discovering new brands and retail ranges that we know our customers will love, as well as strengthening our current relationships with licensors and licensees.”

The uniquely pan-European event dedicated to brand and licensing extension is in its 12th year and announced back in April the addition of a third day to the previously 2 day event due to excess demand.

2009 saw 180 exhibitors and 4862 professionals from 58 countries attend the increasingly successful exhibition.
