Boden and the British Fashion Council have announced the three designer brands that will participate in the 2017 Future British scheme, which supports emerging UK designers as they build their businesses in the fashion arena.

The programme, now in its second year, provides talented British brands with seasonal financial support and mentoring in all key business areas over a 12-month period. This includes access to Boden’s studios for shoots, product development, brand identity, lookbooks and PR, marketing and digital strategy.

The three recipients of the 2017 programme are luxury accessories brand Loxley England, artisan jeweller Alighieri and shoe designer Dora Teymur, who will also receive guidance and advice from Boden’s leadership team.

They will join Arthur Yates of Bruta and Alice Ashby of Blake-LDN in the programme, while the first Future British designers Camilla Elphick, Samantha McCoach of Le Kilt and Caitlin Charles Jones become the inaugural alumni taking with them a wealth of new brand-building skills and new business connections.

“It has been great to see the designers grow and flourish with the mentorship we offer; their energy and ideas are thoroughly infectious. It’s also great for us to connect with the future of British fashion,” said Boden chairman Johnnie Boden.

The programme was set up by the company in 2015 as a platform to help and support emerging fashion businesses. Launching in 1991 with just eight menswear products, the British brand has experience in building a successful business and now has over 1.5 million customers worldwide.

The programme will also see recipients supported through the BFC Fashion Business Network, including advice and support with legal, accounting, banking, production, content and communications.
