Big Commerce tech brand becomes an official patron of BFC

Software-as-a-service e-commerce platform BigCommerce has been named as an official patron of the British fashion Council (BFC).

And it said that Jim Herbert, senior VP and general manager of EMEA at the firm, will join the BFC’s Industry Advisory Board. This delivers top-level guidance on industry best practices around key topics including sustainability and diversity in the industry. 

Herbert said the firm is keen to parter with the BFC “as it nurtures the future growth and success in British fashion by focusing on education, grant-giving and business mentoring”.

And it aims to “discover new and exciting partnerships that will further enable us to be advocates not only for fashion entrepreneurship but for aspiring merchants at all levels and across all industries.” 

BigCommerce’s Open SaaS e-commerce platform currently hosts a range of brands including La Perla, Peter Christian and Badgley Mischka.

BFC chief executive Caroline Rush said the body welcomes BigCommerce’s participation “as it stands with a number of other high-profile brands in supporting our organisation through its vital contributions, to deliver significant and impactful programmes that benefit the fashion industry at large”.
