Beachwear and lingerie trade shows Riviera and Interfilière confirm September editions

Following a period of uncertainty, Eurovet has confirmed that its two Paris-based trade shows dedicated to beach and swimwear and to lingerie, Riviera and Interfilière, will take place from September 4 to 7 and September 6 to 7 respectively.

The aim is to synergise with the fashion trade show Who’s Next with which it will share Hall 3 of the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris. Who’s Next’s online platform Vimeet will also be open to lingerie buyers for the event.

This new rendering is the “crisis format” that Eurovet’s CEO Marie-Laure Bellon suggested back in April. The lingerie and swimwear trade show Unique by Mode City, which was scheduled to take place from June 27 to 29, has been cancelled this season.

Eurovet had also planned to launch its new event ‘Swim Culture’ this summer at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The event dedicated to swimming was to be open to the public and include an art exhibition. Eurovet had to put its new innovation on hold, along with many other events organisers who have had to revise their plans, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The newly scheduled edition of Riviera by Mode City, which will take place in Hall 3 of the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre along with Who’s Next, will offer a space dedicated to swimwear, resort wear, and accessories brands which will present their summer 2021 collects at the event.

Interfilière, which will be set up in Hall 4 of the Paris venue, plans to focus on the European market with a reworked seasonal approach as, “current conditions do not permit exhibitors from all around the world to come together.”

As with numerous organisers preparing for reduced-size editions due to the current circumstances, Eurovet is betting on digital technology to complete its physical event. This is the role of new digital platform ‘Grip’ which facilitates connections and editorialisation of collections. The digital offering will continue to function after the trade show and up until the end of September. Who’s Next will also use its Vimeet digital platform in this way. “This digital solution will support the physical event to multiply new business opportunities and revive activity,” said Bellon.

The first half of September will be a complex time for textile and clothing businesses. Trade show organiser Messe Frankfurt has decided to cancel its September edition. Trade show Première Vision Paris plans to hold a reduced-size edition which it would compliment in terms of audience with its digital marketplace. The Made in France Première Vision trade show will be held from September 1 to 2 at the Carreau du Temple in the heart of the French capital.
