Avon rolls out new Go app in 17 markets after UK trial

To support its growth strategy and digital transformation, cosmetics company Avon has announced that its new mobile app ‘Avon Go’ will be available to representatives in 17 markets worldwide following a successful trial in the UK.

Mexico, Russia, and Philippines will be amongst the first countries to have access to the app, which has been designed to help Avon sellers increase their productivity, sell more products and better connect with their customers.

A further 25 markets from across Europe, Latin America, and Africa will be added from July 2019, the London-based business announced.

“Avon has built the world's largest network of female entrepreneurs and we are relentless in our focus on making Her successful,” commented Nick Burton, vice president of digital development.

“Providing our beauty entrepreneurs with a one stop shop to boost their business from their mobile is key to unleashing the power of digital for our representatives, and increasing the flexibility of the Avon opportunity.”

Key features offered by the app include latest product and promotion notifications, order placing and easy access to support features including Avon contact centres. It also has a social media hub where the company’s 6 million representatives can interact with their online communities and and share beauty looks.

The company is also investing in a global training platform to curb the decline in active representatives. In the first quarter of the year, the business saw a 9% reduction in the number of active reps, largely driven by declines in Brazil and Russia. This meant that revenue for the period was 15% below that of last year, reaching $1.19 billion according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
