In the run-up to the Salon International De La Haute Horlogerie in Geneva (January 16-20, 2017), Tag Heuer has presented a preview of a fully ceramic version of its flagship men's watch, the Carrera Heuer 01.

Unveiled at Basel two years ago, the Carrera Heuer 01, which is Tag Heuer's signature watch, debuted in a classy collection that has since been enriched by even more spectacular timepieces.

In January 2017, the manufacturer will officially launch the Carrera Heuer 01 Full Black Matt Ceramic, which is equipped with the same in-house movement as the original model, but with a matt black ceramic case.

The functional parts of the watch (case interior, screwed back, and push buttons) are made of steel for optimal water resistance, while virtually all of the parts that are exposed to friction (the bezel, lugs, dial and bracelet), are in black ceramic, which is highly scratch-resistant.

Manufacturer produced movement

The timepiece is equipped with the Calibre Heuer 01, an automatic manufacturer-produced movement with an openwork date disk visible in an aperture located at 3:30.

The 45mm diameter modular case in black ceramic houses an openwork dial with three chronograph counters: a minute counter at 12 o'clock, an hour counter at 6 o'clock, and a second counter at 9 o'clock.

Waterproof at depths of up to 100 meters, the watch comes with a black ceramic bracelet with H-shaped links and folding steel clasp.
