Rag & Bone to launch Star Wars collection this December

Rag & Bone is teaming up with Disney on a fashion collection to celebrate the release of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" this December.

The US fashion label has been hard at work on a limited-edition collection comprising 22 pieces of womenswear and menswear, spanning ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear, WWD reports. The pieces contain references to the legendary franchise, with both sides of the Force depicted through details such as slogans and contrasting colorways.

The collection will launch on December 1, with just 100 examples of each style set to be made available.

A behind-the-scenes video exploring the collaboration shows Rag & Bone founder Marcus Wainwright teasing quilting, military references and lacing details that allow the fit of the garments to be adjusted, all aspects that feature prominently throughout the collection. Standout pieces include an RB1 Force In Jedi high top sneaker, a version of the brand's heeled Ellis Boot with an intergalactic edge, and a hoodie inspired by the character Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"The attention to detail and every element of what we've put into these clothes I think is inherently very Rag & Bone and I hope people understand it," Wainwright explains in the video.

The brand is by no means the first fashion label to seek inspiration from the Star Wars franchise: the release of last year's blockbuster "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" saw sportswear brand Columbia debut a clothing line inspired by the film's characters, while 2015's "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" saw 10 prolific British designers collaborate on a special "Star Wars: Fashion Finds the Force" showcase.

Rag & Bone x Star Wars will be available on December 1 in select Rag & Bone stores, as well as online.
