Photographer drops lawsuit over Kendall + Kylie Tupac tees

Published

The photographer who sued Kendall and Kylie Jenner over their use of his images of rapper Tupac Shakur on t-shirts for their Kendall + Kylie line has dropped the lawsuit.

According to court records filed yesterday, photographer Michael Miller has asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit he filed last year because both parties have "reached a settlement." The financial terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, but each party is agreeing to pay their own attorney's fees.

Miller's lawsuit was one of several heated responses to the Kendall + Kylie "vintage" graphic t-shirt line that launched last year, featuring images of Kendall and Kylie Jenner imposed over those of a variety of cultural icons. The brand received a cease and desist letter from the Notorious B.I.G.'s mother telling them their use of his image was unauthorized. Sharon Osbourne also took to social media to tell the Jenner sisters to stop the unauthorized use of music legends' imagery.

Initially Kendall + Kylie claimed the brand had paid for the images and received them from a company authorized to grant image licenses.

Ultimately, however, Kendall & Kylie pulled the styles and the sisters issued apologies on social media claiming they meant no disrespect and had not intended to misuse the images.
